High School Senior Briana Tucker, a Raymarine Pro Ambassador, took first place at the 2016 Timmy Horton High School Bass Angler Challenge last weekend. We asked Brianna to share her passion for the angling sport and how her Raymarine Electronics help her take home the wins!
At what age and how did you start fishing? When did you turn to fishing competitively?
I started fishing when I was 8 with my grandfather, Jimmy Garrie, on the Fishers of Men Legacy Trail. We won the first tournament we fished and got big fish. Ever since then I've been hooked!!
What Raymarine Electronics do you use?
I have two Raymarine aSeries Touch Screen Multifunction Displays. One unit is located at the front of my boat, the second is by the console.
How are your Ray electronics instrumental in your fishing/competing efforts?
My Raymarine units are crucial in finding fish during practice and my tournaments. Whether it's finding a school of bass on a ledge or around structure, the clarity on my Raymarine units is unbeatable.
What do you like most about your Raymarine equipment?
The clarity of the images produced by my Raymarine units is definitely one of the many things I love about them! The ability to mark waypoints exactly where the fish are located is also very important.
What inspires you most about fishing?
When I am in a tournament, I love the competition between all the anglers. I'm also inspired by the camaraderie among all of the competitors, and how at the end of the day we are all one big family. I love being outdoors and experiencing Gods amazing creation.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years I see myself completing a marketing degree and wrapping up my collegiate fishing career. I see myself pursuing my goal of becoming a professional angler.
